The last qualification run of this year took place in Augsburg on the weekend, with 15 racers competing to win at the small and technical track.

On Saturday we tried the car with our standard setup and it drove very well; we only changed minor things like adding a harder rear anti-rollbar. The weather was good until around 11:00AM, but the rest of the day was washed out and with it the first three qualification runs. It was lucky for us that Team XRAY (with the support of Bertram Kessler) worked well together, and so it was no problem for us.

On Sunday morning the racing started with cold weather and very low grip. The grip got better every run and so did the times. After three runs I was in 2nd place right behind Thomas GĂĽnsel (also with an NT1), and Michael Heinrich (XRAY) was in 3rd place. After the semi-final there were seven NT1 drivers qualified for the final.

I got a good start and went directly after Thomas. He made some mistakes and then his glowplug went dead, putting him out of the race. Michael too had problems with his engine so I had a very comfortable lead which I held until the end. Local racer Thomas Schlee drove very well and secured 2nd place for Team XRAY.
